*Remember, every piece of content should have a reason to exist. To educate, to enable or to engage. Which one is it?

Writing is an art. But it is also a science. Structure, psychology, taxonomy, purpose, AIDCA and more… they and other principles are all fundamental to being able to stir action through the medium of writing. There are very few types of content that do not feature text as a communications medium… so you’ve got to get it right!

Being able to communicate with imagery and graphical representations alone, is no simple task. Diagrams, memes, infographics, photography and more… pictures really do speak a thousand words. But are you able to create them? Are you able to ensure that they work in the way that you intended? It is a steep learning curve, and one that you can absolutely master.

Videos are the great “Frenemy”. You cant successfully market a business properly in the twenty-first century without them, yet at the same time, producing, editing and promoting them seems to be an impossibly contrived and difficult task. So where do we go? This gets to psychology, management culture, personal skillsets and more, very quickly. Hold on tight, it’s a hell of a ride – see you on YouTube soon!

Public Relations, or Press Relations as some people call it, is the art of getting ‘media space’ using your content, on platforms beyond those which you control. Your job as a Marketer is to produce an attractive narrative, and the multi-faceted content to support it, that enables and encourages journalists / influencers to take on your story and tell it to their audience. Of course, you must also have a clear objective in mind for doing so. No, this isn’t just about writing a press release – it’s not 1992 any more.

Search Engine Optimisation or “SEO” as it is known, is the art of making search algorithms on and off the internet put YOUR content in  positions favourable to your strategy. No it’s not all about keyphrases, page titles or “getting to page one on google”. It’s a serious practice, and takes huge investment to pull it off successfully.

The internet is a giant interconnected system of other systems. It forms a web. A web that will swallow up your business or brand, and sink you to the bottom, unless you know how to position yourself on it. The technology and practices are hugely varied, both popular and obscure. We’ll give you the tools to leverage it all correctly for your aims. Google, Bing, hosting, servers, API’s, all of the digital infrastructure you’ll ever need.
In Kevin Costner’s famous film “A Field Of Dreams”, he builds a baseball arena in his corn field on his failing farm. Spurred on by visions and voices of ghosts telling him to “…build it and they will come.” The ghosts do come. They play the beautiful game, and their legend saves the future of the farm. Unfortunately in Marketing, we dont have supernatural help so we have to promote our content ourselves. How? Come to this session and find out.
This is the big one. The time ultimate time suck, the KING of the white elephants. Wholly dependent on the quality of your content strategy, and the whims of the algorithms and the authorities that control them… it’s a BIG gamble. You’ve got to be clear on your WHY and your WHO with social media – and your content MUST reflect this.
Email marketing has taken a hammering due to technical and legal restrictions in recent years. Yet, it can be one of the most effective and cost friendly methods of generating sales from your ‘tribe’ that you have in your arsenal. How do you make your email stand out from the spam? The answer is not a simple one.
How do you assess the return on investment with your content strategy, and the production effort that goes into it? It’s in the numbers right? The numbers never lie to do they? Noooo, of course not. *cough cough* Never. We’ll teach you how to assess your work accurately, using qualitative and quantitative methods.
When was the last time you produced interactive content… of ANY kind? It is very likely that you never have. You can do it, and it’s time to learn how. What exactly IS interactive content, and how do you to make it deliver value for your brand? Find out in this session.

Do you have what it takes to be a performer? An influencer? A pundit or a speaker? Here’s a hint: YES. You do. Everyone does. But doing it LIVE? That’s a different kind of challenge altogether.
